Helping fight period poverty

Want to learn more about period poverty and help break the taboo around menstruation?
Join me and get involved with BruZelle!

From time to time the Leuven Region of BruZelle organises sewing marathons. All day long, bags are cut, stitched and filled with menstrual products by volunteers. You can sign up to come for a whole day or just a few hours. The next one is planned for Saturday 17 October 2026.

The impact of this program?
* approximately 15,000 sanitary pads are distributed every month in the Leuven Region (packaged together in 750 reusable fabric bags)
* 115 schools in the provinces of Brabant and Limburg have cabinets with bags of sanitary pads and tampons. – as of February 2025

A great achievement, possible only with the help of donations, volunteers and supportive decision-makers in the schools!

Want to be involved?
Check out all the great work of BruZelle throughout Belgium and if you live in the Leuven area and want to get involved at any time of year, you can contact the Regional Coordinator, Rita Van Even.

Connecting with the animal world

Animals have so much to teach us. Observing their qualities, such as how they look and move, is not only an interesting experience, but connects us at a deeper level.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to meet and work with one of your animal guides!

Facilitators: Lorinda Brinton and Anke Hoeven

If you would like to arrange this workshop or something similar for a group, or simply be notified if it is offered again, please let us know via the button below.

This beginner’s meditation workshop, using the interplay of nature and art, took place at the S.M.A.K. museum in Ghent, Belgium as part of Grace Ndiritu’s exhibition ‘Healing The Museum’. Offered in partnership with S.M.A.K. and Brussels Mindfulness.

I delivered this session in ‘The Temple’, a place Grace designed to showcase S.M.A.K.’s collection in a critical way, and to be a spiritual space for encounter, transition and healing.

What people say

“Het programma bracht veel nuttige inzichten, waarvan sommige misschien al wel onbewust aanwezig waren. Door de oefeningen worden dingen vaak visueel gemaakt en aan (de) oppervlakte gebracht. Zo kan ermee aan de salg gegaan worden!”

– Group program participant (Dutch original)

“The program brought many useful insights, some of which may have already been present subconsciously. Through the exercises, things are often made visual and brought to the surface. This way you can start working with it!”

– Group program participant (English translation)
