Mindfulness & MBSR

This internationally recognised and trusted training is the basis of my mindfulness teacher training certification and provides a solid foundation to become aware of and better respond to the stress in our lives.

Join as part of a group course or arrange it for your workplace or community organisation.
Can also be arranged as individual or private sessions.
Online or in-person (depending on location)

“Really well-balanced course which gives you the tools you will need to make a difference to everyday life situations.”

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky.
Conscious breathing is my anchor.”

  • Increased awareness and concentration.
  • Discovering new ways to cope more effectively with existing conditions, difficulties, pain or suffering.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Eight group sessions (online or in-person), guided meditations and weekly take-away tasks.

  • internationally-recognised 8-Week program, delivered in a group and facilitated by Lorinda, a certified mindfulness teacher
  • helps you work with your own internal resources and abilities to respond more effectively to stress, pain, and illness
  • designed to guide you in “how” to practice, integrate, and apply mindfulness in your everyday life
  • originally developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D at the Stress Reduction clinic, University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center (US)
  • based on (systematic and intensive training in) mindfulness meditation and mindful hatha yoga
  • intended to create a structured pathway to relieve suffering and increase wellbeing
  • works best with active participation – attending the weekly classes, setting aside around 30- 45 minutes of home practice each day if possible and completing other assignments during the rest of the week.

How can an MBSR course help me?

“For those who are not familiar with mindfulness – the course is a wonderful introduction. For people familiar, it’s a very effective and motivating trigger for everyday practice.”

– MBSR course participant

Gain and build mindful awareness during supported weekly sessions and home practice.

Try out techniques (such as mindfulness meditation and simple and gentle body movement). Benefit from discussions within the safety of a closed group.

Begin to integrate awareness into challenges and adventures of everyday life. Have opportunities to share how it’s going with fellow participants.

“It’s a great course where you can share with other people.”
